Priest Funerals was founded by Robert Priest. Mr Priest was born in Worksop in 1952 and attended Abbey’s School. He had a big presence in the Priory Church as he was a choir boy and worked his way up through the ranks to be the lead choir boy. There is also rumour he was offered the part of Oliver in the film but turned it down. He always wanted to work in the funeral industry and in 2004 he took advice from a local Funeral Director and Robert Priest Funeral Services was born. Since that time, he has helped thousands of families as they embark on the journey of burying or cremating their loved ones.
In April 2020 his daughter, Tracey, joined the team. Tracey was also born in Worksop having gone to St. Augustine’s Infant and Junior school and then went on to Dinnington Comprehensive School where she stayed to complete her A Levels. Tracey has a medical background having worked for the NHS for 20 years where she became a Team Leader before leaving to have her daughter, Jessica. It was around this time where she became interested in the funeral industry and learnt everything from her dad.
Tracey still lives in Worksop with her husband and daughter and both Tracey and Robert can normally be seen around Christmas fundraising for charities with the local Santa Sleigh.
I turned to Priest Funeral Services in 2018 when we lost my fiancé suddenly and in distressing circumstances. I find myself turning to them again for the following reasons: The service we received was outstanding from start to finish. The compassion and empathy shown throughout was exemplary. The thought and love that went into my fiancés service even had his family members approach myself to ask if my fiancé had been personally known to the Priests and their team, which he was not, but that is testament to the amount of care and dedication expressed to ourselves at such a devastating, confusing and unbearable time. We cannot recommend Priest Funeral Services enough.
Where do I start, by saying Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The care and compassion the whole team at Priest funerals gave at the sad passing of my Mum was outstanding. They went above and beyond making sure everything was perfect. This is no usual funeral service, this is a personal service which lasts beyond the funeral. I was made to feel like part of their family with regular updates and calls to see how I was doing. They make such a difficult time into a bearable time with their love and care. I have no hesitation to give an outstanding review and if I could give ten stars I would. I highly recommend anyone to use Priest Funeral Services in their time of need.

I cannot recommend Robert and his staff highly enough. My dad had a beautiful sendoff thanks to all their help …nothing was too much trouble. Robert was always there when I needed anything. They presented and dressed dad in the way I wanted him for his viewing and could stay as long as we wanted. Massive heartfelt thanks to them all.
